Lupe Fiasco has been named one of GQ Magazine’s “Men of the Year 2006,” receiving the “Breakout” honors on the annual ranking. The critically acclaimed MC — whose debut album, “lupe fiasco’s food & liquor,” recently entered Billboard’s “Top Rap Albums” chart at #1 — joins a star-studded roll of icons, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jay-Z, Will Ferrell, Al Gore, and the cast of “Jackass.”
Lupe will celebrate the GQ accolade with an appearance on tonight’s broadcast of “Late Show with David Letterman.” The Chicago-based rapper will perform his new single, “Daydreamin’,” accompanied by Jill Scott, who is featured on the currently rising track. The single’s companion video clip — which also features Scott — has just entered the running for BET’s “106 & Park” countdown.Source
