A Pretty Ricky university gig ended in violence on Saturday night. One student was shot in the stomach and six others were taken to hospital after CS gas was sprayed into the air at the Loughborough university show. The shooting happened at 2.45am reportedly after a fight broke out in the crowd. The 21-year-old victim was working as a security guard at the show.

He is now recovering in hospital where his injuries are not said to be life threatening. A 22-year-old man has since been arrested for the shooting and police are investigating who discharged the CS gas. One student who witnessed the trouble said, “People were just freaking out - no-one really knew what was going on.

“There were a lot of people crying, a lot of people unable to breathe. They were streaming out of the room, coughing and in tears.” It is believed the shooting was the result of a dispute between students and members of the public let into the concert.
