Rapper Lil Wayne is going to jail as part of a plea deal to avoid a longer term behind bars on gun charges.According to reports, Lil Wayne will plead guilty for his possession of a .40 caliber gun found on his bus in 2007. Lil Wayne was expected to protest his innocence, but an announcement by authorities that they were to confirm Lil Wayne’s DNA was found on the gun making the chances of a conviction far more likely, bought about the change.
Under the deal, Lil Wayne will reportedly plead guilty for possession in exchange for an 8-month term in jail. If 8 months sounds harsh, Lil Wayne could have faced 15 years behind bars for each count of criminal weapons possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon. It’s believed that authorities will drop the other charges in return for the guilty plea on the lesser charge.
Lil Wayne joins a long list of rappers who have faced or spent time in jail, a move that it nearly a right of passage in some parts of the industry.

Man what is the dealio with all these rappers going to jail? What do you need to carry a gun for? To act hard? Its not worth all that. Dang now the FEDS takin 2 of our best rappers…Lil Wayne & T.I ain’t this a shame.

exactly they dont need to carry a gun, they have money to pay people to do that, but they are rappers they want to be all hard and gangsta, so they pay the price.

Mmm, rappers with a past such as lil waynes, have reason to carry a gun. He couldn’t possibly be trying to “act hard & gangsta” because he wasn’t out flashing it around and pointing it at people. When you carry a gun, you carry a purpose and his purpose just happened to be “letting go of his past by getting caught”. Everything in life has a reason; even rappers with guns. (:

Lil Wayne and T.I. aren’t close to being the best rappers. They’ve got alot of mainstream coverage but that’s it.
Some rappers carry guns because the area that they are from and the lifestyle that they live necessitates it. Some have guns merely to enhance their image.
